Unfortunately if you have honey bees in chimneys we need to collect a lot more information than if you had them anywhere else.
To help us assist you further please supply as much detail to the questions below as you can.
Having carried out numerous live honey bee removals we have a pretty good idea about most situations.
If you don’t know the answers then no problem – just move onto the next question.

High quality photos (so that we can see brickwork & construction detail) are worth a thousand words so are really useful.
Please check that they are not reduced in size when uploading or emailing.

We are trying to establish how long the bees have been present at the property, and whether there may be a history of bees at the property that you are unaware of.

Photos

The following photos will help us understand the circumstances of your situation better, the photos need to be sufficiently detailed that we can see construction details so allowing us to count brick courses, see the pointing, etc:

  • a photo of the full height of the chimney stack as it runs through the roof space,
  • a photo showing the chimney stack from the point it rises above the roof to the top of the pot,
  • a photo showing the full height of the property including the chimney & the access area in front of the chimney,
  • a photo of the bottom of the flue (including the floor in front) suspected of having the bee nest in (whether or not it's covered over),
  • photos showing the relevant fireplaces (or the location of where the fireplaces were originally if covered over)
